Louise M. Crews, 75, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with the Men of Morningside Baptist Church serving as active pallbearers.
Louise Merkison was born March 9, 1942 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Elmer E. Merkison and Elsie Mae Lynn Merkison. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1960 and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Louise was a registration clerk at Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
Louise cared deeply for others. She was active in her church and Sunday School Class and enjoyed serving alongside others. Louise had a gift for growing things from plants to children. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and bragged on them often. Louise has been described as one to “never miss a trip”. If she missed a trip, you could find her nose deep in a good book.
Survivors include her sons, Jeff Crews and his wife, Fran, Randy Crews and his wife, Karen, Dan Crews and Max Crews; her siblings, Donald “Buddy” Merkison and his wife, Jackie, of Riverdale, GA and Doyle Merkison and his wife, Levenia, of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, Derrick, Mindy, Heather, Gage, Chelcee, John and Sara Kate; and her nine great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents.
