Clarence began working at Duncan Field as an aircraft inspector. Later, this became part of Kelly Field and he rose in rank to Chief of the Maintenance Engine Quality Branch. In this capacity he travelled to Air Bases in both the United States and other countries and received many awards.
After living in San Antonio, Clarence and Catherine decided they wanted to live in the country, so they found some acreage in south Bexar County in the area of Atascosa. Clarence continued to work at Kelly Field. His children had the benefit of a country life with animals and land to roam around on.
Clarence was active in Boy Scouts and was the camp cook for their outings for many years. After his retirement, he spent much time working on his property, turning it into a beautiful place with a creek, picnic area, tree house, and lush vegetation. He grew vegetables and was very content, finally away from the stresses of his career.
Clarence was a wonderful father and husband. He was a good provider and loved his family. He left his mark in this world by raising seven successful children, who benefitted greatly from his knowledge, care, and example.
