Norleen met and ultimately married Richard Owen Hodges in Walnut Creek, California. The Hodges began their family in Walnut Creek welcoming Matt, then Laura and finally Scott to the family. In 1975, the family decided to pursue work opportunities in Pocatello. Widowed in 1986, Norleen married David Capell in 1990 and they have enjoyed a wonderful partnership for over 27 years.
Norleen was a master of knitting needles and a virtuoso on a gas range. She loved knitting blankets, slippers and scarves for her children and grandchildren; she was even able to knit for her first great-grand child. She also loved preparing elaborate dinners for family gatherings, which always helped create a wonderful atmosphere. Norleen was a valued employee to a number of Pocatello businesses over the years including Dr. Mooney, Cowboy Oil Company, Brennan Construction and CarpetsPlus. She was a great mentor and friend to many.
Norleen was preceded in death by her son, Matt Hodges (1968-2014) and husband Richard Owen Hodges (1925-1986). Norleen is survived by her husband David Capell; brother, John Blakley (Pam); sisters, Melody Lemon and Maralee Blakley; daughter, Laura Wilson (Shane); son, Scott Hodges; step-son, Jimmy Capell; grandchildren, Jake Wilson, Max Wilson, Rachel Olson (Michael) and great-granddaughter, Harper Olson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID.
