Ruth H. Gibson, age 85, passed away Friday May 18th at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, May 21, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Bob Hawkins officiating. Mrs. Gibson was born February 22, 1927 in Troy, AL., daughter of late Dennis Jackson Harris and Annie Ruth Barron Harris. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Luther Gibson and four brothers: Buford T. Harris, Walter Thomas Harris, Hubert Dennis Harris, and Homer Glen Harris. Mrs. Gibson is survived by two daughters, Dianna Louise Gunn of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. and Betty Jo Worthy and husband, Paul of Cataula, GA., five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Jack Gibson, sister-in-law Dixie Gibson, and many nephews and nieces. Mrs. Gibson will be deeply missed, but forever cherished in the memories of all who loved her.
