OBITUARY for Martha Boudreaux Sonnier
March 18, 1917 - June 17, 2016

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Martha Boudreaux Sonnier, age 99, who died at 5:20 PM on Friday, June 17, 2016 at her residence with family at her side.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.

Reverend Andre Metrejean, Administrator of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Natalie Breaux and Nicole Walker. Giftbearers will be Julie Douget, Hannah Douget, Cassie Kulbeth and Bethany Walker. Karen Broussard, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "Notre Pere" and "J'irai la voir un jour".

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Betty (Jim) Bonin and Doris (Ronald) Breaux; five grandchildren, Chris (Lisa) Bonin, Cheryl (Sean) Douget, Nicole (John) Walker, Byron Breaux, Scott Breaux and companion Allison Dryva, ten great grandchildren, Adam (Keri) Bonin, Cassie (Rocky) Kulbeth, Seth, Julie and Hannah Douget, Bethany Walker, Natalie, Ayden, Parker and Ella Breaux; five step great grandchildren, Reed and Reese Boutte, Addison Bonin, Nace and Caylee Carnefi; two great great grandchildren, Parker Bonin and Lucy Kulbeth and Baby Blakely Bonin due in July.

She was preceded in death by her her husband, Adam Sonnier; her parents, Ursin and Helen Trahan Boudreaux; four brothers and three sisters, Savie, Alpha, Ophie and Clobule Boudreaux and Letha Labbe, Alta Romero and Anita McBride.

Mrs. Sonnier was born in Duson, Louisiana on March 18, 1917, resided in the Judice Community for 67 years and belonged to St. Basil Catholic Church. She prayed rosaries daily for her loved ones. She was the matriarch of this family and enjoyed Sundays and all Holidays spent with them.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bonin, Byron Breaux, Scott Breaux, Adam Bonin, Seth Douget, John Walker and Rocky Kulbeth.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Bonin and Ronald Breaux, her sons-in-law.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SCOTT location on Monday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Deacon Art Bakeler.

The family would like to extend their appreciaton to Dr. Darren Menard and his nurse, Sheila for their kindness and compassion given to our mother. A heartfelt thanks to her sitters, Arlene Morris, Bertha Matt, Joyce Stelly and Theresa Williams. We would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, who did so much in so little time. Thank you Nurse Candice! Also, special thanks to Brenda Lagneaux for her weekly visits to administer holy communion to our mother.
