Ron Horton was born on December 28, 1941 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was raised in Elm Grove, Louisiana by his father, Harley Dove Horton Sr., and his mother, Texanna Hale Horton. Texanna died when he was three years old. His father re-married Eva Clark Horton, who raised Ron as her own. He had two half-siblings, Harley (Buddy) Horton, Jr. and Eva Lucille (Evacille) Horton. He attended Elm Grove School (where his stepmother taught) and later, Bossier High School. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University and Tulsa University with a Masters in Psychology. He was a psychologist for the Tulsa Public School System for thirty years. His first wife was Lenora Gordon Horton. They had a son, Darrell. Ron later married Theresa Stromie. They were married for 40 years until his death. He owned, managed and renovated several apartment buildings in the early 1980's. His interests included: martial arts, military history, European travel, sailing, movies, cats (large and small), building models, antiques, and guitar. Ron died August 26, 2017. He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around! He will be greatly missed!
