Clara L. Akin, 47, died of a gunshot wound at her home Friday morning. Gravesite services were held Monday with Rev. Lee Corey officiating.
She was born in Del Norte April 22, 1923, the daughter of Oscar and Dollie Magnuson (Simpson), and grew up in this community. After twenty years residence in Oregon, the family returned to Del Norte and has lived here the past ten years.
Survivors are her husband, Lu; mother; three daughters, Peggy Kernen, Jennie Hoyle, and Sue; son, Dave; brothers, George, Wayne, and Bill; and four grandchildren.
