CASEY Opal May Breese, 79, of Casey died at 7 a.m. Wednesday (April28, 1993) at the Lakeland Health Center. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Markwell and Son Funeral Home in Casey with the Rev. Larry Matson officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 19, 1914, in Yale the daughter of Thomas Albert and Clara Alma Byram ODell. She married John Breese in 1933; he died in l972. Surviving are a son, Thomas Breese of Martinsville; two daughters, Janetta Seward of Oblong and Carolyn Staley of Casey; six sisters, Faye Slane of Newton, Ruth Michaels of Toledo, Lucille Newlin of Martinsville, Eva Hanners, Dotty Milbourn and Anna Denney all of Casey; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother, a sister, a half-sister and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Breese was the manager of the Casey Thrift Shop for 15 years and was a cook at the Birch-wood Nursing Home in Casey. She was a member of the Hickory Presbyterian Church.
