SALEM — Rose Y. Scullion, 83, of 1600 Franklin Ave. died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at Salem Community Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Salem, the daughter of the late Phillip and Amelia (Kavecic) Yakubek.
She was a beautician and owned and operated Scullion Beauty Salon for 45 years, retiring in 1985.
Rose was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She was a 1941 graduate of Salem High School and did her beautician training in New York City.
Her husband, Paul Leo Scullion, whom she married Sept. 7, 1946, preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.
Survivors include two sons, Mark C. (LouAnn) Scullion and Dennis Scullion, both of Salem; four sisters, Mary Yakubek, Mrs. James E. (Katie) Hunter and Anne Davidson, all of Salem, and Mrs. Robert (Jeannie) Sampson of Diamond; a brother, Louis Yakubek of Rowlette, Texas, and two grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Mike, Joe, Nick, Steve and John Yakubek.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in Historic Hope Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with a Prayer Vigil Service being held at 7:45 p.m.
