George “Bud” Anderson, Jr., age 87 of Edmond, OK passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017. Bud was born on March 15, 1930 in Oklahoma City to George, Sr. and Ada (Keller) Anderson. He graduated from Capitol Hill high school in 1948. He married his wife Beverly on July 14, 1951 in Midwest City, OK. Beverly preceded him in death in 2013, he was also preceded in death by his Parents George & Ada and Sister Nadine Arbuckle.

Bud was self-employed in the auto industry since moving to Edmond in 1951.

He is survived by his Children; Cheryl & Rodney Ferguson, Mike & Cindy Anderson, Chris & Lisa Anderson and Kelly & Robert LaRue; Grandchildren, Ryan & Stefanie Ferguson, Riley & Karris Tackett, Cory Anderson & fiancé Anna Smith, Christy Anderson, Chance Anderson, Lexi Anderson, Wyatt LaRue and Brooke LaRue; Great Grandchildren, Kamden Tackett, soon to be baby Ferguson; and Nieces, Rita & Richard Manning, and Vickie McKenzie. He is also survived by his beloved pet Mitzi.

Services will be held Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK. Celebration of life with family present will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14th at Matthews Funeral Home – Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept.14th from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.

Special thank you to all of his coffee shop buddies, friends, neighbors, and all of those at Virginia’s Place as well as Dr. Johnny Hickson and staff.
