It is with great sadness that the family of Judy Riffe Reavis announces her passing on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the age of 75. She was born on November 18, 1941 in Norman, Oklahoma. She married Jimmy Reavis and raised three children on four different continents as a military wife, before settling in Universal City, Texas. Judy touched many lives as a schoolteacher for over twenty years, and was also an active member of the Windcrest United Methodist Church, participating in bell choir and kitchen band. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jimmy Reavis. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Virginia (Husband, John) Tintera, Jay Reavis, and Gary Reavis; seven grandchildren, John (wife, Megan), Amy, Scott, James, Laura Griffin (wife, Emma), Tessa, and Jessica, her three great grandchildren, Sidney, Lincoln and Daniel as well as by her sister Vicki Patterson. A memorial service will be held at the Schertz Funeral Home on Sunday, September 17, 2017, 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lighthouse for the blind at www.salighthouse.org.
