Our sweet mom, grandma, and great-grandma, Barbara Bennett Roach, passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2017.

She was born to Archibald F. Bennett and Ann Ella Milner on August 24, 1923 in Salt Lake City. She was the oldest of five children, and graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Education.

She followed in her father's footsteps by devoting much of her life to family history, publishing several volumes of her research cherished by many extended family members across several countries.

Barbara married Delbert E. Roach in the Salt Lake Temple on March 20, 1947. Together, they raised four children.

Barbara and Delbert served several missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spending decades working at the family history libraries in London and Salt Lake City. Barbara also enjoyed being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved her gardens and flowers, instilling in all of us a love of gardening and appreciation of beauty.

Barbara served tirelessly in many church callings. However, her greatest joy was her family. Each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren felt her love and devotion. She showed interest in all of us and kept us in her heart.

She is survived by her children, David (Jannette), Floyd (Kathy), Nanette, and Christine (Jeff); and seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and families. She is also survived by her brother, David (Lorreen); brother-in-law, Mel Farr; and sister-in-law, Pat Bennett. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; sisters, Marilyn and Joan; and brother, Marshall Gordon.

We would like to express heartfelt thanks for the loving care and kindness shown to Mom in the last few weeks of her life by caregivers, Sonia and Sumara; aide, Tammy S.; and nurse, Michelle.

A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 6301 South 2300 East, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South).
