April is survived by a daughter, Tina (Phillip) Blakeman of Eau Claire; a son, Howard (Falesha) Smith of Chireno, Texas; 12 grandchildren: Matthew, Jacob, Jeffrey, April, Tyler, Stephanie, Justin, Katlynn, Izak, Marissa, Jessi and Travis; and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by a sister, Susan Dale of Hartford; two brothers, Kirk (Alice) Dale of Hartford and Allen (Debbie) Dale of Lawton; and her caregiver, Sharon R. Blakeman of Coloma.
April was employed at Hoffman Industries of Eau Claire until her sickness forced her to retire. In her spare time, she loved being with her grandchildren and spoiling them rotten. She also enjoyed tending to her garden.
As to April’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial graveside service to honor April’s memory at Keeler Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 with the Rev. Scott Nearpass officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in April’s name may be made to Hanson Hospice Center.
