Rev. B. I. Dahl Jr., 92, a longtime resident of Clifton passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, peacefully at home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clifton with Bishop Erik Gronberg of the Northern Texas-Northern Louisiana Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America presiding.

Born December 4, 1924 in Waco, he was the son of B.I. Dahl Sr. And Emma Knust Dahl. B.I. Jr. grew up on the family farm in the Womack Community and later graduated from the Luther Theological Seminary. On October 4, 1952, he married Vivian Myrvold. They lived in Washington State and served the congregation of the Vashon Island Lutheran Church from 1952-1957.

During their time at Vashon they were blessed to have a son Mark, and were expecting a second child when they moved to Everett, Washington in 1957. A month after arriving in Everett, Steven was born. From 1957 to 1969 Reverend and Mrs. Dahl were instrumental in building the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In 1969, the family would relocate to Spokane, Washington to serve at St. Peters Lutheran Church until Reverend Dahl’s retirement in 1990.

The Dahl family loved to see the West by auto. Texas was a travel destination many times through the years. They loved to bring the boys to visit their grandparents, uncle, aunt and cousins. B.I. Jr. enjoyed teaching and leaning along with his boys about the country, Vistas National Parks and roadside attractions.

Once retired, B.I. Jr. and wife, Vivian chose to return to Clifton. They worked hard to refurbish the family farm house. He once again became active in Trinity Lutheran Church as visitation pastor. He also loved serving in the Lions Club and several other organizations in the community. Known to all as a quiet, kind, generous man, he will be greatly missed.

Rev. Dahl was preceded in death by his parents, B.I. Sr. and Emma Dahl; brother David Dahl; son, Mark Dahl.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian; son, Steven Bernt; grandson, Gene Paul of Graham, WA; daughter-in-law, Judy of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Tracy Dahl Knipling and husband, Keith of Alexandria, VA, Katie Dahl Dai and husband, Scott of San Leandra, CA, and Peder and Lucy Dahl of Hood River, OR; great grandchildren, Simon Dai and Cecily Dai; sister-n-law, Bernice Johnson and her children, Ken, Susan, and Holly of Great Falls, MT; nieces, Cindy and Connie, and countless other family and friends.
