Brenda Darryel Spinks McPhail was born at home in DeKalb, Texas, on October 3, 1942, to Buel Cleo Spinks and Ruby Inez Robinson Spinks and died peacefully at home on September 9, 2017 at the age of 74. She grew up in Grand Prairie, graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1961

She worked at Chance Vought where she met the love of her life, her husband of almost 50 years, Robert (Bob) Davis McPhail.

She kept her GPHS classmates informed and held her ‘annual’ Thanksgiving baking with her grandchildren and great nieces and great nephew. She loved helping one of her daughters, Julie, with her monogramming business.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Brent Spinks. She is survived by her husband, Bob, her daughters Julie McPhail and Christe McPhail Dodds and her husband Brian Dodds and grandchildren Hannah, Davis and Naomi Dodds. As well as two sister-in-laws, Joyce Cordell Spinks and Mary Frances McPhail Drake, one brother-in-law Ken Drake, and many beloved nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She will be interred at Moore Cemetery in Arlington. A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 13th at 4pm at the First Christian Church of Arlington, 910 South Collins,
