Eliza was the daughter of Richard Carter & Catherine Brandon Carter who were married 15 July 1822 in Halifax County, Virginia.

She was the granddaughter of Lemuel Carter & Martha Powell Carter; and of Francis S. Brandon, Jr (16 May 1756 - 9 Aug 1842) and Sarah Scott Brandon (16 Nov 1766 - 30 June 1818) all of Halifax County, Virginia.

Eliza is my 3rd Great Grandmother.
