Greenwood SC - Elbert Foster LaGrone, 84, of 234 Woodrow Street died this morning at a Columbia Hospital following a long illness. He was born in Edgefield County April 13, 1886, a son of James and Fannie Dorn LaGrone, both natives of Greenwood County. He lived most of his life in Greenwood and Edgefield Counties, was a member of Main Street Methodist Church and prior to retirement was employed with Greenwood Mills. His wife, Mrs. Mary Lee Parkman LaGrone died July 21, 1964. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Robertson of Ninety Six, Mrs. Helen Mayson and Mrs. Lois Holbert of Greenwood; three sons, Clarence A., James Elmore, and E. F. LaGrone, Jr., all of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Y. R. LaGrone and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Hancock, both of Greenwood. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
