Servicesz for Mary (Mrs. Edward) Pidima, 79, Guernsey, were Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the McAninch-Fremming Funeral home, Victor. The Rev. Jack Weida, Guernsey United Methodist church, officiated.
Mrs. Pidima died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1980 at her home.
Mrs. William Alexander, organist accompanied Mrs. Harlan Kluber, soloist, who sang "Abide With Me" and "Rock Of Ages." The Rene Seyes and the Fred Walines cared for the flowers.
Pallbearers were Lawrence, David, and Daryl Pidima, Stanley Anderberg, Delmar Runquist and Glenn Urfer. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Victor.
The daughter of Augustus and Alice Rose Groff, on Sept. 11, 1901, Mary Elizabeth Groff was born at her parents home in Honey Creek township, Iowa County. She attended the rural school in Poweshiek county.
Her marriage to Edward J. Pidima took place Sept. 17, 1919. The couple established their home at his birthplace, where they farmed seven years, until moving into Guernsey in 1926. She continued to reside there following her husband's death in 1963. She was a long time member of the Guernsey United Methodist church.
Survivors are her son, Lawrence, Guernsey; her daughter-in-law, Doris; two grandsons, David and Daryl and one sister, Gretchen (Mrs. Ivar) Anderberg, Rock Island, Ill.
She was preceded in death also by two sisters, Abby and Daisy; and three brothers Cecil, Homer and Clark.
