Eugene served in the US Navy and the US Army. He worked in the oil fields for several years and had other jobs before becoming a letter carrier for the US Postal service for 18 years.
He was a gentle, soft-spoken man yet strong in areas he needed to be. After retiring he loved spending time watching movies especially John Wayne and Elvis Presley movies. He enjoyed going fishing with his son even if they didn't catch any fish. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his 117 foster children.
Eugene loved helping other people. He did a lot of work at the church, mowed yards for neighbors, took widows shopping and to doctor appointments and was always on call for anyone who needed help. He never turned anyone down if he could do what they needed done.
I was both honored and blessed to be his wife for 46 years.
