He was a very proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War.
Tom retired in 1993 from Argonne National Laboratory after 34 years of dedicated service.
He loved to travel, enjoyed computers and electronics but most of all cherished spending time with his family.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years Anita Marie (Mathis) Carothers; two devoted sons Tim (Janet) Carothers of Lockport and Greg (Carman) Carothers of Sheridan, IN. Many dear nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Earl Thomas Sr. and Verda (Bowker) Carothers and a sister Carol Joan Peterson.
Arrangements entrusted to the O’Neil Funeral Home, Lockport.
Interment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
