Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wood River United Methodist Church, with Pastor Trudy Hanke officiating. Burial will be in the Royal Nebraska cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Irma was born May 23, 1925, at Royal to Fred and Nellie (Reed) Storm. Her twin brother died at birth.
She graduated from Royal High School, and attended college at Wayne State and Kearney State; where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education. She taught in country schools in Antelope and Hall Counties, and retired from Cedar Hollow school in 1988.

The family lived on a farm where Irma raised chickens, milked cows, ran a separator, raised gardens and canned. She baked many delicious things, bread, cinnamon rolls, potato water glazed donuts and pies. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to grow flowers.

In addition to teaching, she worked in the Seattle shipyards as a Rosie the Riveter, the onion plant in Grand Island and Skelly’s café at the Wood River exit on Interstate 80.
