APPENDICITIS PROVED FATAL TO ED CHOWING
(From Tuesday's Daily.)

Edward Chowing[sic] 53 years old, who resided with his brother-in-law, Ad Mellis, and wife, near Freeport, died this morning at six o'clock at their home from appendicitis. He took ill Saturday while at Morristown, but did not call a doctor until Monday. At that time the attending physician realized that his condition was critical and if a change for the better was not made soon, that the suffering man could not last ling.

Deceased had lived in this county for the past thirty-five years and was well known in the Freeport and Morristown community. He had been married, but his wife had preceded him in death. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Fern, who made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Mellis, and one brother, William Chowing, of North Dakota.

The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at ten o'clock at the Freeport M. P. church, the Rev. H. D. Hedrick officiating, and the interment will be made in the Asbury cemetery.
