James Edward Williams, 72, passed away in Fort Worth, Friday, September 1, 2017.

James was born March 19, 1945 in Coleman, Texas to Jessie and Leona Williams. He was the youngest of three children.

James met Sandra Brown in Breckenridge, they married October 30, 1970. Together they started a family and enjoyed cruises and going to the lake. James liked to coach his daughter’s sports teams, fish and to attend his grandchildren’s activities. His work ethic never wavered.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Chaney, brother in-law David Brown, niece Marsha, Uncle Burviell “Bur” Day, and aunt Viola “Pink” Day.

Survivors: wife, Sandra Williams; children Christy (Aaron) Wood, Jayme (Daniel) Cornwell; grandchildren Preston Wood, Ashton Wood, Jackson Wood; brother Jesse Glenn Williams, sister in-law Glenda (Peter) Palacios, sister in-law Darla Brown; uncle Robert “Bob” (Beverly) Phariss, aunt Juanita “Sug” (Bill) Dendy; 7 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and honorary son, Jeff Bennett.

Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Acton Cemetery.
