The following obituary was published in The Daily Signal, Crowley, Louisiana on Thursday, September 30, 1920, page 1.

Mrs. T. T. Atteberry Died on Wednesday
Mrs. T. T. Atteberry, one of the most highly esteemed ladies of this city passed into eternity at eight o'clock Wednesday night at her family residence, East Fifth Street, in this city. The funeral was held at 3:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The interment was in the Crowley cemetery, Rev. R. W. Tucker, officiating.
Mrs. Atteberry's maiden name was Miss Aggie Elizabeth McAlpine. She was born at Eutaw, Ala., on Dec. 26, 1873. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Quintos McAlpine.
Mrs. Atteberry was married 26 years ago. Her husband, who is a prominent rice farmer at Mowata, two daughters and three sons survive to mourn her loss. The latter are: Mary, James, Winston, Thomas and Bessie. Her mother, Mrs. Mary McAlpine, three brothers, Bradley S. and Lawrence McAlpine, of Alabama, Winston McAlpine, of Opelousas, and a sister, Mrs. W. R. Burgess, of Tennessee, are also members of the surviving family.
Mrs. Atteberry had resided in Louisiana since 1902. She was an active member of the Episcopal church for many years. She was essentially a home woman, and her noble life and sterling character are priceless heritages to her relatives and friends.
