She was the daughter of Gene and Gladys (Knudson) Enger.
Sandra was educated in Morris schools. She was a graduate of Morris Community High School, Class of 1958.
On November 21, 1959 Sandra married Melvin P. Werden in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Morris. For over 26 she was employed with Eagle Foods, retiring in 2003 as the lead cashier.
Sandra enjoyed swimming and vacationing near the beach. She always enjoyed a good game of cards with family and friends and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.
She and Melvin were members of the Lazy Recreational Club in Morris. Sandra’s greatest joy was her love for spending time with her family, especially time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is her husband Melvin of 57 years; three sons, Randy (Kris) Werden, Daniel Werden and Eric (Lori) Werden all of Morris; 6 grandchildren; Michael, Hannah, Emma, Tessa, Jordan and Jacob; one great grandson, Henry; two sisters; JaVerna Johnson of Joliet and Beverly (Clinton) Hulbert of Morris; one brother, Kenneth (Debbie) Enger of Florida. Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; Donald, Leslie and Gerald.
