Roy Paul Altman Sr., 82, of Abbeville, Alabama passed away Oct. 10, 2001 at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Altman was a native of Okeechobee, but formerly lived in LaBelle. He had lived in Abbeville since 1982. Mr. Altman was retired from Gutwein Grove Industries in LaBelle as a shop mechanic. He was a member of the Church of God. Mr. Altman was preceded in death by a son, Terry Altman.
Survivors include his wife, Lavinia Story Altman of Abbeville, Alabama; five daughters: Pauline, Shirley, Mary and Brenda; and also Chris Paxton of Abbeville, Alabama; four sons: Jesse Ray Altman of Kansas City, Kansas; Paul Altman Jr. of Headland, Alabama; Donald Altman of Abbeville, Alabama; and Danny Altman of Loxahatchee; a sister, Esther Williams of Bradenton; and eleven grandchildren.
Graeside services were held in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Don Adams officiating and Holman-Abbeville Mortuary directing. (Caloosa Belle, Oct. 17, 2001)
