Minnie was a daughter of Rev. Josiah L. Dickerson (1797-1863) born in Connecticut, and Mary Pray (1813-1852) born in New York state. Josiah and Mary last resided in Spencertown, Columbia County, New York. These Dickerson family notes further state that Minnie had at least two sisters; (1) Inez Dickerson who married Armstead L. Barnes and moved to Harvey County, Kansas [Inez, 1850-1938 is buried in Star Cemetery in Harvey County, Kansas with her husband and daughter]; (2) Estelle Dickerson who married William L. Carpenter, said to have been one time Mayor of Des Moines, Iowa. It is not clear why Minnie Dickerson traveled to Meade County, Kentucky. (Dickerson family notes from the papers of Charles L. Barnes, 1892-1980, youngest son of Armstead L. Barnes and Inez G. Dickerson Barnes mentioned above.)

Minnie Dickerson married Richard W. Wimp.

Family notes and census reports list some of their children:

1. Fannie P. Wimp, born about 1861.
2. Jesse F. Wimp (1872-1878)
3. Elizabeth Wimp, married William G. Aylesworth
4. Dora B. Wimp, born about 1863, married Dr. Ben R. Walker. Children: 1. Ina Walker married Mr. Withers. 2. Louise Walker. 3. Orin Walker.
5. Lillian Wimp, born about 1865, married Jacob Kendall. Son Billy Kendall married Jane Henry.
6. Hallie Wimp, married Mr. Higbee. Hallie must be a family name because Minnie's sister Inez named her youngest daughter Hallie Inez Barnes.
7. Belle Wimp, born about 1869.
8. Ethel F. Wimp, married Benjamin Wright on Sept. 8, 1880 by minister Darnall Dowden.
9. Charley Wimp
