Myrtle Hall Roop, age 89 of Salem, died Tuesday. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Garnett Yopp, Mrs. Helen Thornhill, Mrs. Evelyn Roberts, Mrs. Norris Reed, Mrs. Shirley Boone; two sons, William A. Collins, Kenneth Collins; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Collins, two sisters, Ruth Goodwin, Flossie Phillips; 42 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren. Funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. William A. McDaniel officiating. Burial will be a Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements by the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Salem.
