Larry Lee Bentley, 79, of Columbus, formerly of Nelsonville, OH, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at Monterey Care Center in Grove City. He was born June 22, 1938 in Athens County, Ohio, son of the late Gerald and Margaret “Peg” Rogers Bentley. He was married to Zita A. Bentley for 47 years, and she passed away in 2008.
Larry was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Era. He was a retired maintenance mechanic for Kal Kan Pet Food Company. He was an Elder in his church, the Columbus R.L.D.S. Church Restoration Branch. He was greatly loved by his family and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by sons, Mike Bentley of Texas and David (Sarah Maria) Bentley of Illinois; daughter, Deborah (Gregg Mudrak) Riffe of Columbus; grandchildren, Ryan Bentley, Travis Bentley, Chad Bentley and Christopher Bentley, Lucas Bentley and Elias Bentley, Danielle Riffe, Josh Riffe and Jordan (Farrah Munson) Riffe and Christi (Kelly Kunkler) Mudrak; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Trinity, Alexandria and Josh Jr. and James; step great-grandchildren, Landon, Aiden and Aubreigh; sister, Peggy Ann Bentley of Nelsonville; brother-in-law, Ralph (Carolyn) Keplar of Orrville; sisters-in-law, Ruth Keplar of Orrville, Phyllis Crosser of Orrville and Glennia Keplar of Columbus; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 9, 2017 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Sam Oliver officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville. Friends may call Friday September 8, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the funeral home.
