Alben Barkley Keesee, 79 of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Friday morning, September 1, 2017 at his residence.
He was born March 27, 1938, at Belfry, KY, the son of the late Moss and Della Mae Myers Keesee. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Josephine Keesee who died January 4, 2017; one son, Moss Keesee; one daughter, Cynthia Keathley; sisters, Helen Farmer, Lorene Hensley and Mary Jane Miller and brothers, Clyde Keesee, Albert Keesee, Frank Keesee and Charles "Fuzzy" Keesee.
Alben was a retired coal miner; member of the United Mine Workers of America; Stone Masonic Lodge #890 F. & A.M. and of the First Baptist Church of Belfry.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Karen Keesee of Belfry, KY; son-in-law, Darrell Keathley of Belfry, KY; one sister, Nancy Worley of McVeigh, KY; grandchildren, Jamey (Mable) Hackney of Belfry, KY, Shawn (Carrie) Keathley of Lancaster, KY, Jessica (Chris) Hackney of Williamson, WV, Hillary (Wes) Hall and Alyssa Keathley both of Belfry, KY; six great grandchildren, Brett Keathley of Virgie, KY, Josh Keathley of Belfry, KY, C. J. Hackney of Williamson, WV, Ty Hackney of Williamson, WV, Brooklyn Owens of Belfry, KY and Cooper Sammons of Belfry, KY and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the Keesee Family Cemetery, Belfry, KY. Pallbearers will be James Keathley, Shawn Keathley, Chris Hackney, Wes Hall, Phillip Moore, Brett Keathley and Josh Keathley.
