Macie (Haun) Jackson departed this life Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from her home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Macie was the third daughter born to Lewis Merle Haun and Sadie (Sawyer) Haun on August 26, 1925, in Norman, Oklahoma. She was raised on the family farm where she learned the value of hard work and service to others. Macie graduated from Norman High School on May 28, 1943. She met Carl Dee Jackson at the University Church of Christ in Norman, Oklahoma. After a long courtship and his separation from the Army, they were married on April 6, 1946 in Norman, Oklahoma. After Carl's graduation from the University of Oklahoma, they moved to Brownsville, Texas where the couple raised their four boys. Carl departed this life in February 1979, and Macie operated the family business, W.R. Jackson Feed and Seed Company, for a few years. She sold the family business in 1985 and moved to Edmond, Oklahoma, where she served Oklahoma Christian University as event hostess, special projects coordinator, study abroad sponsor and landscape designer until she retired at the age of 90. Macie loved children and was an excellent Bible teacher. She loved to travel, and every trip was a learning experience. Macie was preceded in death by her parents (Merle and Sadie), her two older sisters (Lessie and Josie) and her husband Carl. She is survived by her four sons, Andy, Pat, Chris and Doug and their families; including 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A celebration of Macie's life will be at 2 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the Memorial Road Church of Christ, 2221 East Memorial Road, Edmond, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers Macie can best be remembered by a memorial gift to: The Macie Jackson Memorial Fund, c/o Oklahoma Christian University, P.O.
