Her parents were both born in Germany. Rev Henry Castens arrived in 1875 from Hanover, Saxton, Germany and her mother Johanna "Hannah" Schenk arrived 1869 from Bayern, Germany. Information given on US Federal Census. Both died in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.

Amanda married on 24 Nov 1915 • Aurora, Kane, Illinois, to Oscar Yaeche. They raised their children:
Leonard Paul 1919-2003
Loraine Louise 1916-1993

The family moved from Aurora, Ill to Milwaukee, Wisconsin before 1935, in which they spent their final years.

Amanda died at 80 years of age.

Her obit published in Milwaukee Journal Aug 24 1966.

I did attend your memorial service as a young girl, with my parents & brothers. My mother saved the memorial laminated bookmark which I still have in my possession.
