She was born Feb. 6, 1911, at Partridge, the daughter of Clyde and Edna Mae Hodge Kitch. She graduated in 1927, from Partridge High School, was a 1938 Sterling College graduate, and completed post graduate studies at the University of Kansas. A Partridge resident, moving to Hutchinson in 1999, she was a teacher for 43 years, having her sister; Lois, as one of her students.
She belonged to Partridge Community Church and the Retired Teachers Association of Kansas.
On June 10, 1931, she married Glen W. Amerman at Hutchinson. He died March 13, 2000.
Survivors include: a sister; Lois Daile Bramley, Lawrence; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and many former students.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaylord and Glenn Kitch; and a sister; Dorothy Feese.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the mortuary, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery.
