She was born in Forty Fort on March 2, 1924, a daughter of the late August and Cecelia Roskey Rudolph. She was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School, Class of 1942.
Betty was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she served as president of the Altar and Rosary Society, and as a Eucharistic minister, special education CCD teacher, bingo volunteer, member of the hospitality ministry and as a member of the Parish Council. She was also a member of the Firwood Senior Citizens.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, she had been employed for many years by the Social Security Administration.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Chupka, in February 1989. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Francis and Leonard Rudolph, and by her sisters, Theresa Rudolph, Mary Martin and Ceil Laskowski.
Surviving are her sons, Paul Chupka and his wife, Cathie, Mifflinville; James Chupka and his wife, Monica, Shavertown; Peter Chupka and his wife, Kathy, Shavertown; and by her daughter, Betsy Medon and her husband, Bob, Elysburg. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Rudolph, Trappist Abbey, Carlton, Ore.; sisters, Barbara Evans, Johnson City, N.Y.; and Rosalie Rudolph, Syracuse, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.
