Davis Austin is buried in what appear to be a single grave (with marker) in the edge of the woods of an old home place (house still there), well off Ridge Road, Leesville, SC, on property owned by Paul Rawls Swygert, behind the residence of his sister, Carnell Sywgert Smith. Mr. Swygert now uses this property as a pasture, but fenced around this grave to protect it. This area of South Carolina was known as Craven County (later, Lexington County)at the time of Mr. Austin's death. It appears he and Catherine had one child, Christian Davis Austin Jr. (see his memorial).
