PETERBOROUGH, N.H. - Charles L. Sankovich , 86, of Pheasant Road Nursing Home, died there Wednesday after a long illness.

He leaves his wife, Beatrice (Kenyon) Sankovich , formerly of Lunenburg, Mass.; a son; a daughter; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nephews and nieces. He was born in East Pittsburgh, Pa., son of Stephen and Teresa (Tiebus) Sankovich , and lived in Baltimore for many years before moving to Florida, then Peterborough several years ago. He was a tool-and-die designer for Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Baltimore, retiring in 1977.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg, Mass.
