Levi Meese, 72, of 843 South Newton, died at 8:05 a.m. Monday in Burge-Protestant Hospital where he had been a patient since Friday night. A longtime former resident of the Nixa and Rogersville communities, Mr. Meese was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Surviving are four daughter, Mrs. Mary Bills, Lennox, Calif., Mrs. Betty Nowlin, 1900 East Grand, Mrs. Vivian Lawson, 1846 East Division, and Mrs. Dorothy Rowden, 1501 West Hovey; four sons, Bill, Torrance, Calif., James Orville, Wash., Sgt. Harvey Meese, with the U.S. Marines in Portage, Ind., and Louis, 843 South Newton. Other survivors include two brothers, Raymond, 2131 North Nettleton, and Lowell, Oroville; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Smith, Rogersville, Mrs. Wilda Campbell, Route 8, and Mrs. Arlene Pepper, 2623 West Harrison, 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Harris of Nixa.
