John W. Barry, 93, president and last of the founders of the Bloomer Cancy Co., on North Third Street, died at 10:55 Wednesday night in Good Samaritan Hospital.
He had been active in his duties with the company since 1896 until last April 15 when he fell and fractured a hip.
Mr. Barry was a native of Zanesville, a son of the late Garrett and Ellen Kennedy Barry.
He was a member of St. Thomas Church, its Holy Name Society and was the oldest member of the Knights of Columbus, here.
The family resided at 1306 Blur Avenue until the death of his wife, Stella, Oct. 10, 1954 and he had since resided tith a daughter, Mrs. George F. Smith at 2761 Dresden Road.
Also survived are another daughter, Mrs. Francis Betz of Newark; two sons, William G., of 803 St. Louis Avenue and Joseph of Alezandria, Va.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The body was taked to the Forest Avenue Chapel of the Bolin-Bryan Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
