Randy Ray Treat, 71, of Kingston, died Aug. 26, 2017, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was born Dec. 7, 1945, in Tulsa, Okla., the son of Buford and Evelyn Darlene Alexander Treat.
He was a retired battalion chief for the Springdale Fire Department and also retired from the Kingston Rural Volunteer Fire Department.
He was also a retired agriculture teacher and held a master's degree in education.
He had served as a captain in the Arkansas Army National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post #230 in Kingston.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Shirley J. Smith Treat of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Shawn and Tracey Treat of Bentonville, and Aaron Treat of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Myle and Mike Meyers of Kingston; five grandsons, Gage Treat and Will Treat, both of Bentonville, Ryder Treat and Chase Meyers, both of Kingston, and Chance Meyers of Branson, Mo.; three granddaughters, Whitley Vann of Memphis, Tenn., Maggie Treat and Caitlyn Emlich, both of Bentonville; several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Parsons Arena in Springdale, with Jeff Cantrell and Kenny Bailey officiating.
Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Pallbearers were: Rob Hall, Mike Meyers, Sam Mabry, Jeff Cantrell, Gary Grey, Randy Thompson, Dan White and Mickey Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were: Springdale retired firefighters and Kingston Rural Volunteer firefighters.
