Rites Saturday For Clyde Creek

Funeral services for Clyde Harrison Creek, 64, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Schilling funeral home with Rev. Howard McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Creek died at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday in Decatur and Macon County Hospital, Decatur. He had been in ill health six weeks. He was an employe of the New York Central Railroad 45 years.

Mr. Creek was born June 4, 1895, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Creek of Mt. Carmel. He married Inez Irene Sayer at Vincennes, Ind., Sept. 11, 1917.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Edgar S. Creek, Clyde H. Jr., Mattoon, and Jack L., with the U.S. Navy in Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Mrs. James H. Smith, Mrs. George E. Taylor and Mrs. James C. Madden, Mattoon; a sister, Mrs. Bess A. Painter, East St. Louis; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
