BRUNSWICK - Douglas T. Blake, 86, of Beech Drive, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Portsmouth, N.H. on April 30, 1931, the son of Mark Jr. and Elizabeth Terry Blake.

On September 20, 1952, he married the former Louisa Harriette Milliken. She died February 24, 2013.

Doug taught at schools and colleges in Maine and Massachusetts.

Doug was a member of the Maine Maritime Museum where he also volunteered from 1994-2003. Doug had also volunteered at the former Parkview Memorial Hospital from 1989-1994.

Doug earned the Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award 2001-2002 and the outstanding Undergraduate Faculty of the Year 2011-2012 all from SNHU Bunswick Center.

Surviving besides his brother, Mark and sister-in-law Gloria Blake of Eliot are several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 6-8pm at STETSON'S FUNERAL HOME, 12 Federal Street, Brunswick, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 30, at 10am.

A reception will immediately follow the service in the STETSON'S FUNERAL HOME FAMILY RECEPTION CENTER. Interment will be in DUNSTAN CEMETERY, Scarborough. Memorial condolences may be expressed at; www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com
