He was born July 27, 1920 in Wellington, Texas. He graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1938.

He married Myrnavae Aileen Barkley on December 6, 1942. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1942 and The George Washington University in 1956.

He retired October 1, 1972 after serving more than 30 years in the Air Force. A Command Pilot and Navaigator, he flew more than 30 types of aircraft, with more than 5500 flying hours, including 35 missions in the B24 over Europe in WWII, the largest being the 6 engine B47 in the 1950's.

He was a member of many military related and community organizations, serving in many capacities. Among them Charter/Life member of the Air Force Association, Adult Scouter in the Boy Scouts of American since 1955, with many years as a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. Serving American and youth was his priority.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, siblings, other relatives and many friends.
