wife of David E Evans

DIED
On Friday the 24th ultimo at her home in this village, Mrs. LUCY EVANS, Consort of David E. Evans, Esq. in the 32nd year of her age:-
Thus hath passed away and forever; the amiable wife, the fond mother, and the sympathysing friend. And thus, in the bloom of existence, have the joys of home which she adorned, been prostrated by the unerring shafts of death! That scene of domestic felicity, which so lately beamed with the brightest hopes, is now turned to bitter lamentation of bereaved hearts; and every thing around seems to whisper to surviving friends; "The fairest is not left among you."
In her, the husband mourns a loss which we presume not to estimate; the circle of kindred friends, their most affectionate companion; and society one of its brightest ornaments.
The last kind offices of affection were reentered the deceased, on Sunday last, by a numerous deeply affected concourse of citizens and friends;-On which occasion, the funeral ceremonies, were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Smith, in a manner solemnly interesting, and worthy the noble and pathetic qualities of that able divine.
