Death of Hon James Dick -------------------This gentleman died at his coal mines, in Sullivan county, on the E.& C. Railroad, last Wednesday. Mr Dick was a native of Scotland, but had been a resident of the county for a number of years, and had filled a number of important and responsible positions--having been a member of the State Constitutional Convention, Postmaster in this place under President Pierce, and mayor of our City. He was a gentleman of more than usual ability and force of character--of excellent judgement, and strong will and determination. He was remarkably well informed on all general subjects, and was exceedingly attractive and genial in his social ****** with friends. His sudden and unexpected death has left a void in our community which will be hard to fill. Mr D will be buried today from his farm in Decker Township
