2) The newspaper obituary also states "Interment will be made in City cemetery (sic) No. 6." Mr. Cowles is buried in Mission Burial Park, South.
3) Apparently Rochester, NY is situated in two counties in New York, Monroe County and Ulster County. Only one county could be listed above under the date of birth above.

H. H. O. Cowles, one of the oldest passenger conductors in the state of Texas, died at his home, 122 West Park avenue, at 1:10 o'clock yesterday afternoon following an illness of several weeks. Mr. Cowles was 70 years of age and was a native of Rochester, N.Y. He began his railroad career in 1864 on the Wabash road and followed the calling of railroad conductor for a total of thirty-four years. He came to Texas twenty-eight years ago and had resided in San Antonio for the last seven years. He was a member of the Order of Railway conductors. Surviving are his wife, one son, G. W. Cowles and two brothers, R. B. Cowles of this city, and N. R. Cowles of Jefferson, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence, 122 West Park avenue at 5 o'clock this afternoon by the Rev. V. A. Godbey, pastor of the Travis Park Methodist church. Interment will be made in City cemetery No. 6.
