Ruth Janice Braden, 92, of Shelby County passed away on August 12, 2017 at MHP in Shelbyville. Ruth was born April 7, 1925 in Shelby County, the daughter of Eston and Lucy(Kuhn)Robinson. On September 17, 1944 she married the love of her life George Edward Braden and they soon would have been married 73 years. George survives. Other survivors include 3 daughters, Rosalyn "Kay(Norm)Jackman, Jan(Max)Courtney, Joy(Larry)Huntsman, all of Shelby County; granddaughters, Melissa(Rob)Parramore, Lori (James)Drake, Alisha(Todd)Grant, Kelly(Kirk)Parramore, Jennifer(Cory)Evans, Sheila(Josh)Flynn, Sherrie(Brandon) Sutton,; great-grandchildren Ali and Olivia Parramore, Loggan, Drew, Jenna and Landon Drake, Lauren and Lucas Grant, Sierra and Caleb Parramore, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Ava Evans, Bella and JJ Flynn, and Emma Sutton. Other survivors include a sister Claron Cassidy, sister-in-law Janet Robinson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Rosemary Martin, brother Dwain Robinson, an infant brother, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Virginia and Lowell Hatton. Ruth graduated from Waldron High School in 1942.She was an active member of the Lewis Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years where she led the kitchen committee for many years, taught Sunday School, and served faithfully when needed. She was a long-time member of the Lucky Fifteen Extension Club. She was a homemaker, a companion farmer with her husband, and a playmate with her children, grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. visitation will be from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. on August 16th at the Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 E. 600 South, Waldron, Indiana 46182, with services at 10:00 a.m. on August 17th also at the church. Pastor Brandon Sutton and Pastor Harvey Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Flat Rock, Indiana. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lewis Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of the Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176. Ruth rejoiced in her familys' accomplishments and marriages, celebrated in the Breath of Life of her 7 granddaughters, and delighted in the addition of 16 beautiful great-grandchildren. She trusted and honored her Lord and Savior and led by faith and example. Gone from her earthly home but never forgotten.
