Ethel Pauline "Polly" Highfill, after a fulfilling life of 99 years, left us Aug. 18.
She was preceded in death by Dorsey, her husband of 47 years; daughter-in-law, Barbara; grandson, Mark; and first cousins, Harry Headlee and Lester Carter. She is survived by son, David; and daughter, Judy Bailey (Jim); grandchildren, James E. Mayfield (Gina) and Jeff Highfill (Robin); great grandchildren, Christopher, Graham and Ava Mayfield, and Ashlee Kelly (Scott); great great grandchildren, Dayton Highfill and Copeland Kelly.
Pauline was born March 24, 1918, the only child of Frank C. and Ressie (Jones) Headlee, in the same farmhouse as her father.
Pauline moved to Creekside Retirement Community in Sept. 2013.
