September 23, 1930 - August 21, 2017

A. James "Jim" Grove, 86, died at Dallastown Nursing Center on August 21, 2017. He was the husband of the late Charlotte V. (Diehl) Grove.

Born September 23, 1930 in York, he was the son of the late Alvin Clayton and Anna (Flinchbaugh) Grove.

Jim was a 1949 graduate of Red Lion High School. He was a former employee of John H. Myers, former Co-owner of Eck and Grove Gulf Station in Red Lion and later retired as the Traffic Manager for York Corrugating Company after 34 years of service.
He was an avid Penn State Fan, a member of the Nittany Lion Club and a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ.

Jim is survived by a daughter, Melanie L. Karcher and her husband, Jerrold "Jerry" of Scranton; a step-daughter, Diana Crowe and her husband, Fred of Coatesville; a step-son, Charles Edward Blauser and his wife, Donna of Hastings, FL; a granddaughter, Tracie Pesotine and her husband, Arthur of Duryea, PA; and a great-granddaughter, Rheanna Pesotine.

He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Susan Silverman; two brothers, Clester Grove, Sr. and Howard Grove; and a sister, Marian Portner.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Ave. York, with the Rev. Robert E. Brown, officiating. Friends and guests should meet at the Mount Rose Ave. entrance to the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Heidelberg U.C.C., 47 W. Philadelphia St., York, PA 17401.

Jim's family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Victorian Villa, Dallastown Nursing Center and Grane Hospice for the attention and care given to Jim.
