Robert "Dean" Attebery, 79, passed away on Aug 20, 2017. The son of Harrold and Aleda (Chapman) Attebery, he was born on Oct 20, 1937 in Tulsa, OK.
Robert, an Avionics Technician with the U.S. Air Force, retired after 26 years of service as a Master Sgt. The family traveled extensively while Dean was in the military. Dean enjoyed going to the gym to workout and he was also an avid OU fan.
Family was very important to Dean and he loved going to all of the events of his children and grandchildren, including sporting events, piano recitals and all the birthday parties of the family members. The family has many memories of the cards games he played with them. Dean never met a stranger, and was he was loved by everyone that met him. He leaves behind to mourn his passing many, many friends.
He is survived by his 4 children, Cathy Swallow and husband Stephen, Debora Attebery, Curtis Attebery and wife LaDonna, and Kenneth Attebery and wife Kristin; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Everman and wife Jessica, Zachary Everman and fiancé Megan Disch, Jessica Everman, Stephanie Bonds and husband Tred, Jacquelyn Costlow and husband Blake Freeman, Carson Attebery, Cooper Attebery, Taylor Attebery, Conner Attebery, and Owen Attebery; 3 great grandchildren, Isabelle Everman, Ace Freeman to be born any day and one more on the way; brother-in-law, Jim Fitzpatrick; niece, Vicki Hilliard; special mention to Shay Jones and her daughters, Ashley and Molly Snow and the Proffitt and Poteet families; and a host of other loving family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Misako Attebery; his parents; and sister, Donna Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will begin on Monday evening at 7:00 PM at the John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Aug 23, 2017 at New Hope United Methodist Church 11600 N. Councel in OKC. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK.
Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
