LORAINE, Ill. -- Mark W. Achilles, 42, of Loraine, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 6, 1997) in Doctor's Hospital in Springfield.
Born Sept. 12, 1954, in Quincy, Mr. Achilles was a son of George and Joanne Dedert Achilles.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, George and Marjorie Achilles of Loraine; three sisters, Cherie Shaffer of Bowen, Brenda DiMichile of Norfolk, Va., and Chris Goodwin of Loraine; a brother, Steve Achilles of Quincy; a stepbrother, Kenneth Starman Jr. of Loraine; two stepsisters, Linda Niekamp of Coatsburg and Marsha Kendrick of Mendon; paternal grandmother, Anna M. Achilles of Quincy; three aunts and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Achilles was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Emil and Greta Dedert; and paternal grandfather, Ralph Achilles.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. John Beveridge. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to McFarland Mental Health Center, Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
